They don't know the truth

It seems that I'm always eating when I blog... Right now I've just finished off a grilled chicken sammich. YEAH. Katy Perry is blasting right now, so that's only slightly less emo than what I was playing earlier... which was Jimmy Eat World. I love them, by the way.

Speaking of love... I've been pretty lonely as of late. It's lame. Fucking lame. I'm not one of those girls who like being an "independent woman". When "Single Ladies" comes on, I do NOT dance. Though, if you like it I STRONGLY suggest you put a ring on it. xD I really did dislike being alone on Halloween, and as stupid as it is... I don't want to spend Guy Fawkes day alone either. xD Honestly, you don't have to remind me how pathetic I am. I'm fully aware of this. I mean... I'm searching for a new damn gym bag right now during the official start of my weekend. Social life FAIL.

There are a couple things I'm looking forward to though. One being the arrival of my t-shirt from this place called 6 Dollar Shirts. I've lurked around their site for ages but I've been too scared to buy anything. As the name suggests, all their shirts are around $6. Sounds like a great deal, right? And if you buy 10 of them they knock $10 bucks of the price so you end up paying $50 for 10 shirts. So, I ordered just one for now to test the quality and I'll probably even post a review here. Yay? Sort of.

Also, I really need to get out of the house so this weekend I might go out to see what's going on at the Major Leauge Gaming event and might go to Sonicon... by myself. ~.~" And those of you who are fans of Less Than Three, the geeky, gossipy podcast Dalila and I run.. well, we're getting around to recording another episode. We promise!

Oh yeah, I forgot to post the link to the blog where you can see the posts I made for my school's newspaper's blog the other night from the watch party. If you're interested in reading them you can go to the Et Cetera Blog.

That's all for now. New post in a few days... or tomorrow.

Who's REALLY the d-bag?

So, a personal blog for today. I know, I know. I keep promising to post a how-to or something of the like but as usual, life gets in the way. I will however introduce you to a couple of my new favorite beauty products that I love in the next few days. It's part of me trying to grow up. I'm actually trying out makeup and I'm taking my purse with me nearly everywhere I go. I'm a woman! Just don't look inside my bag because then you'll see my pink Nintendo DSi with Cooking Mama inside...

Anywho, I've started school up again. I'm really excited about this semester. I'm trying to take it a lot more seriously than I have... ever. I really want to do well. I had gotten so caught up in the environment that I had just gotten sick of it. I really like my classes so far. I just want to be healthier, smarter and happier. 2009 sucked, but I'm determined to make 2010 my best year ever.

On another note, I'm still very much a doormat. Today, in History, a guy asked me to move down a seat because he wanted to sit with his two other buddies. Um, what? Of course, I said yes and moved down. And yes, the rest of the semester I will try to avoid that row so that I won't have to be bullied every other day. I just thought it was a douchebag move. Want to sit with your friends? Get there early and get seats together, you pansies. But seriously, it's a CLASS. You don't HAVE to sit with your friends. I remember when I had a friend in my Sociology class. Usually, he and I would sit next to each other, but when we couldn't we NEVER made anyone try to accommodate us. It's rude. Right?

Another thing, my new French professor is... odd to say the least. Today we were talking about currency and the Euro and she was talking about how most had speculated that the Euro would not be readily accepted. She used US/Canada/Mexico as an example. She contended that we (the US) would not be happy if all of North America had the same currency. I frankly wouldn't because then I couldn't get 13 pesos for my dollar whenever I went to Mexico, which is something I kind of like as sad as it is, but the downfall of precious Mexico's economy is another topic I may cover in passionate fashion on another occasion. Anyway, then she said, "Well, if you encountered a Canadian dollar bill you'd be disgusted because it's not worth anything here,". Er, I'm sorry? I'd be pretty stoked to have a Canadian dollar bill. I've never seen one, nor do I know anyone who has one. Pesos? Yeah, sure. But a Canadian dollar? Never. Then she also contended that we all hold some kind of national pride in the US dollar. I couldn't have imagined anything so vapid... so materialistic. The US dollar doesn't govern me. It wouldn't be anything but a piece of cotton-y paper if the federal reserve didn't say it had some kind of value. National pride in one's currency? I've never heard of such a thing. Why not have pride in something else? The nature, the wildlife, the amazing citizens, the art. Anything but the currency!

Hmmmm.... seems I was on my soapbox for a bit longer than expected. I had also planned on telling you about the small bit of research I've been doing on sexual education advocacy groups. I'm considering joining a group, and once I have more time, possibly trying to get some things done in my city. The amount of teenage pregnancies is alarming. Something ought to be done, don't you think?

Oh, and also, I have one of those Formspring thingies! You can ask me random and anonymous questions here!

I suppose that's all for now, cupcakes. Please visit my and Lila's podcast site Less Than Three and PLEASE visit my Etsy shop, Melon Cupcake.

Jaded

Hi all! I've been busy... again! Life doesn't stop, of course. I guess I'll catch you up to speed on what's been going on with me.

I've been still working on my podcast with my friend Lila. You can always find that on our podbean site. As I posted before, I have my Etsy shop up! You can find that here. I also set up a Twitter account and a Facebook fan page. I'm so pumped about this, as you can tell. XD

I hope you all had a pleasant holiday and new year. I had a fairly splendid time. I also celebrated my birthday recently. :) My friend Yaneth organized a surprise birthday party for me at Lila's place. It was really great, even if I feel jaded as hell for no longer being a teenager. :D Here's a snapshot.

Also, I got to see my boyfriend! He'd been in Arizona since Christmas Eve. I really missed him. Guess what he got me for my birthday? A Nintendo DSi! A pink one! I'm in love with it! If I wasn't so busy I'd probably be playing around with it all the time.

In other news, I got a car... kind of. I think you all remember the mishap with the family truck? Well, turns out our insurance, Allstate denied our claim, leaving us without any help WHATSOEVER. With no operable vehicle my parents were forced to buy a car. They say it's my car and will be totally my car once they figure out a transportation situation for them. Want to see my car? Of course you do.

It's a Scion xD and it's sexay. I originally wanted a Yaris, but upon being in this one, I knew I wanted it. Black is a wondrous color.

You know what else is a great color? Pink...

Haha. :D Yes, I do plan to use this. Yes, I plan on taking pictures of my journey. Yes, I've never done this before. Yes, it will be a disaster.

Until later, cupcakes.

Clutter

Hey, all. Really sorry about the boring updates as of late. They're just about my life and such. Fail, right? Anywho, I promise to have a recipie or how-to up in the next few weeks. I'm cleaning out my room and am finding a lot of stuff and clothing that I want to re-purpose so I'll show you what I end up making.

But yeah.. my room is an UTTER mess. Day 2 of my cleaning marathon will continue today but I'm not sure if I should do it before or after I bake cupcakes. Oh, also... Happy National Cupcake day! I was going to swing by Sprinkles today to pick up a red velvet cupcake for free, but I ran out of time. Wah. :(

I'm also thinking about taking photography back up. I haven't been taking as many pictures as I used to. Speaking of, check out this sexy little thang:

Isn't it the prettiest little thing you've ever seen? It's the new Canon S90. It's basically a sleek digital camera and a DSLR all in one. Have I mentioned that it can save pics as JPEGs or RAW files? Saweeeeeeeeeeet. This is so on my Christmas list, despite the $400 price tag.

Yeah, as Dalila would say, I'm trying to get my shit together. Cleaning my room, getting back into photography, etc is all apart of my MASTER PLAN! The Master Plan consists of,
  1. Clean up, set up "home office" and work/crafty area
  2. Make stuff to sell on Etsy and set up shop
  3. ??????
  4. PROFIT!
And if that is successful, I will rent booths at 2011 anime cons around town. Sounds great, right? I know.

One last note, Lila and I finally recorded Episode 2 of Less Than Three. Click HERE to listen and download our silly podcast! Comments/questions/concerns/bitchery please be directed to lessthanthreepodcast@gmail.com. If you love us, fan us on Facebook, also don't forget to rate us on iTunes, even if it's just two stars.

Much love to all of you, cupcakes. Happy gift wrapping. :D

There she goes again with fishnets on and dreadlocks in her hair

Hi, all! I'm working on the second installment of my blog on my identity. I'll try to have it up next week but I'm rather busy! School's getting hectic once again, I'm preparing for finals and my remaining papers and projects. I'm very excited about next semester though. I'm taking ZUMBA, ONLINE BIO, HISTORY, SPEECH, FRENCH! Yes, I'm very pumped. :D Wheee!

Also, today in my Mexican-American Studies class, we were talking about illegal Mexican immigrants coming into the United States. Our final paper is over the subject and it's a subject I think I'll do well in writing about. It's an issue I see on a day-to-day basis. Hell, a lot of my friends and family have LIVED it. So, in other words I'm also excited about writing this paper. Fail?

Oh goodness I'm so tired! I haven't been able to sleep well.. Anyone have any tips for me to fall asleep faster/more soundly?

Also, you might notice that my blog looks different and I go by a "different" name now. I didn't want to commit to a new alias as much as I liked MelonXXXCupcake. But... I'm Pepper Fishnetz. That's not my legal name, of course but it's a nickname that a lot of people know me by and I really love it. I was christened with this name about five years ago. I used to have a t-shirt that said "I'm a Pepper" referring to the drink, Dr. Pepper, so my friend started calling me Pepper. I also used to wear fishnets all the time. And when I mean all the time, I think I wore them 3/5 school days. I loved fishnets! I still do, but I haven't worn any in ages because they tear so easy and I don't have enough money to buy a new pair every week. Anyway, my friend noticed this and said, "I should call you Fishnets instead." Then I said, "That should be my last name.. I should be Pepper Fishnets... No, Fishnets with a Z!" And that is how I became Pepper. What's funny is that a lot of people refer to me as Pepper. Even my boyfriend has done it! XD Anyway... I switched my Twitter feed (over on the right of the home page of this blog) to my Pepper Fishnetz account. :)

My to-do list is ridiculous! I need to gather all the Black Friday ads I need and pick out what I'm buying for who (no running around like a chicken with my head cut off this year!) and what I'm making for everyone. I need to get this done like... tomorrow. I won't have time on any other day. Friday, I'm going to see New Moon, hopefully. Saturday I might be going out with my boyfriend and attending an event where Etsy sellers will be.. selling. XD Sunday I might be doing a podcast. And next week I'll be getting ready for spending Thanksgiving with my family that's out of town. I'm sooooo excited for that too! Our family has grown a lot in the last year and the thought of being in a house with tens of cool, friendly, loving friends and family is very warming to a girl who grew up as an only child.

Speaking of podcast... My friend Dalila and I are starting one! Our show is called Less Than Three because it's this "<3", a heart and since it's just two of us, we're less than three! Get it? Cute, right? You can find us on our Podbean Blog, LessThanThree.podbean.com or download/subscribe to us via iTunes here. I'm really excited about this too. I'm just high on life right now! Anyway, our podcast is just us ranting about things we like or don't like, usually in a comedic fashion. We only have one done and we'll do our first official episode this weekend so look out for it!

Alright, I think we're all caught up. Have a lovely rest of the week, cupcakes.

:)
